Thorndon Park Golf Club, reputed to be one of the best and most exclusive clubs in Essex. Don't be fooled by the name and certainly don't let this scare you away. Tradition plays a big part in the running of Thorndon Park and as long as you go through the correct channels getting to play the golf course should not be a problem. Once having organised your visit you will find this to be a worthwhile experience. The golf course offers not a long test but demands accuracy being penalised by awkward areas around the greens making chipping difficult. Rarely has the course to be found in bad condition. While the service is found to be efficient in the clubhouse it is alleged by some of our readers that you are not always made to feel welcome, not the best ingredient for your day out.
