The most common fault I find in all standards of golfers is bad technique in the set up and grip. While making a balanced set up with a good grip doesn't guarantee a good golf swing it goes a long way to helping the swing improve. With this in mind I have dedicated the first eight weeks to the set up and grip. Good luck and hard practising.

Width of Stance and Hand Position
(dia 1)
(dia 2)
(dia 3)
(dia 4)
In (dia 1) the stance is shown to be too narrow, which when swinging the club will cause the legs to collapse on the backswing and loosing balance as in (dia 2). Too wide a stance as in (dia 3) will create an over restrictive turn of body and possible sway as in (dia 4). The good width of stance is show in last weeks lesson(dia 4). Your hand position should be placed level or just ahead of the ball.
This lesson will be followed up next week with creating a balanced setup (position).
