The most common fault I find in all standards of golfers is bad technique in the set up and grip. While making a balanced set up with a good grip doesn't guarantee a good golf swing it goes a long way to helping the swing improve. With this in mind I have dedicated the first eight weeks to the set up and grip. Good luck and hard practising.

Ball Position For Different Clubs

Feet Together(dia 1) Short Iron Ball Position(dia 2) Mid Iron Ball Position(dia 3) Driver Ball Position(dia 4)
The position of the ball in your stance encourages many things like a consistent strike, the correct swing path and weight transference, amongst other things. (Dia 1.) Shows the starting position, then widening your stance accordingly. (Dia 2.) Shows the ball positioned in the middle of the stance for the shorter Irons, (SW, PW, 9, 8 & 7) while moving to the 6, 5, 4, 3 Iron, the ball position moves gradually forward as in (Dia 3.) to the Driver position shown in (Dia 4.) inside the left heel.

This lesson will be followed up next week with how to form a balanced backswing from a solid stance.
