REVIEW
I feel well qualified to review this golf course due to my many visits and winning the Essex Open here in 1998. Concentration here is a must as there are many holes that will jump up and bit you. The 1st hole is as hard as they come demanding a well placed tee shot into a fairway that bottle necks down sharply. Laying up is a option of the tee to a wider part of the fairway but this only creates an equally difficult approach shot. To finish the round is one of my favourite hole, the par 5 18th which very much tempts you to go for the green in two of a good tee shot only to be foiled by a mass of tall trees on the right and a stream skirting the right side of the fairway. The golf club offers good hospitality and welcomes all guests to enjoy their golf course.
